In track, “Slow and steady wins the race.” Isn’t the motto. It’s “Speed kills.” Fast. Fast. Fast. You have to be fast. But in just 3 months that motto changed. Patience. Practice. Focus. I came to Tctc and that’s what I learned. Especially in the program I’m in.
I am Arianna Elliott, a 17 year old Senior at TCTC, studying the Health Science: Pharmacy Technician program. I decided to pursue this program because it leads me in the right direction, that involves the medical field. I am a budding athlete at Niles McKinley High School. I participate in track & field, running in the 4 x 1, 4 x 2, 4 x 4, 400m, 200m, and 100m. I have been running for 3 years. Aside from running I do like to read and free write on my free time. My favorite subject in school is English. I am also certified in CPR Currently in my life, I am on my way to becoming a STNA and a certified Pharmacy Technician in the next year or so. I am also balancing good grades to be able to run and participate in track & field. I am studying pharmacology to learn the Do’s & Don'ts of administering drugs, the proper way to handle patients, caring for them and so on. As far as being prepared, I’m not. I cannot go into the real world with the amount of knowledge that I have as senior and because of this I need higher education to pursue my dream career. Which brings me to this, my dream job is to work as a nurse anesthetist at a hospital. I know that this is oddly specific considering I came to TCTC in hope of pursuing a job as a pharmacist. I actually got the idea for the job in my Lab, while with the Pre-nursing teacher looking up jobs in the healthcare field. The more I read about the job the more I fell in love with it. So I plan to be a nurse anesthetist, after 4½ years of college and TCTC can help me do this. But that will only be the beginning, I plan to have my BSN, my RN, and every licensure I can possibly have to that I can be ready and secure my place in the working world. |
Hobbies
I have a lot of hobbies, but the ones I participate in regularly are, running, lifting, working out, reading and making wigs. To me these are more than hobbies but a vey health and dedicated lifestyle. They help me balance out my life and keep my calm and at peace with the chaotic world around me. They are my break from the world. So whether it be running six 100m’s or five 200m’s or sewing so much hair that my fingertips bleed, I love and cherish every second on it.
